Here is a guy who thinks you cannot raise or lower the mast on a Catalina 22 while afloat. I think he is wrong. because I DID IT three times in this last august, so my friends and I could get under some low bridges at rivers that feed into the hudson river.
The procedure is the same as the procedure for doing it on shore. You will notice in the steps I outline in the parent,that a no time do you need to stand off the boat.
When the weather was calm, we just let the boat drift. when there was some weather, We anchored before raising or lowering.
