I have never take the position that everybody should use linux. If I did, then I would be as bad as the multitude of websites and companies that insist that I use windows to access their product or service.
Myself, as a technical guy I prefer an operating system that *can* be tweaked to work as you want it to, instead of a Ivory tower construct forced on all classes of user from the most basic to the most advanced.
