I have never seen a problems solved by leaving SELinx on and have solved MANY problems by turn it off.
Just this AM I needed to have postgres login have ssh without password (public key only) between systems. Postgres login home is /var/lib/pgsql, so set up .ssh folder and public keys and WHAM, it didn't work! I had to disable SELinux to allow sshd access the keys files. Crap. I'm afraid of changing/adding the SELinux permissions on /var/lib/pqsql as I might break postgres, so I just turned off SELinux.
